In order to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors, Nederland ISD reserves the right to refuse entry to or eject individuals from District property under certain circumstances, in accordance with state law and District policy.
The District may refuse entry to or remove a person from District property if the individual:
- Poses a substantial risk of harm to any person;
- Engages in disruptive behavior that interferes with school operations;
- Refuses to comply with District policies, campus procedures, or lawful directives from District personnel;
- Is present on District property without legitimate purpose or authorization; or
- Has previously been restricted from District property.
Visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and lawful manner at all times while on District property. Failure to do so may result in removal from the premises and, when appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
In accordance with Texas law, including Texas Education Code § 37.105, a school administrator, school resource officer, or District peace officer may refuse to allow a person to enter or may eject a person from District property if the person’s presence poses a substantial risk of harm or disruption.
