Statement Regarding Use of E-Cigarettes and Tobacco Products
In accordance with state law and District policy, including the Student Code of Conduct, Nederland ISD prohibits students from possessing, using, selling, or distributing e-cigarettes, tobacco products, or related devices on school property or at school-sponsored or school-related activities.
Students who violate this prohibition are subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Consequences may include confiscation of items, assignment to a disciplinary program, and other appropriate actions as determined by campus administration.
Certain violations involving e-cigarettes may also require placement in a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) in accordance with state law.
This policy is enforced to maintain a safe, healthy, and drug-free environment for all students and staff.
Statement Regarding Physical Activity Requirements
Nederland ISD is committed to student health and ensures that all students participate in the physical activity required by state law.
The District has adopted policies that incorporate physical activity into the instructional day and campus routines. These opportunities are designed to support physical fitness, improve focus, and encourage healthy habits.
All campuses implement these requirements in accordance with applicable laws and District guidelines.
