The Nederland Independent School District Board of Trustees provides a special opportunity to senior citizens in the community. Over the years, seniors have supported the public schools in Nederland. One way of saying “Thanks” is to offer a Gold Card free of charge to eligible senior citizens.
The card is designed to encourage seniors to become more involved with schools by allowing eligible persons free admission to all athletic and cultural events and activities sponsored by the District. By presenting the Gold Card, seniors will be admitted free to concerts, plays, programs, and musical performances. The Gold Card also allows free general admission seating to all home athletic contests, exclusive of playoffs.
Citizens eligible for membership include those who are 65 years of age or older, spouses of Gold Card members, regardless of age, or retired Nederland ISD employees.
Cards are available at the Administration Building from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information call 724-2391, ext. 11201.
