Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications
for the 2025-2026 School Year
The Child Nutrition Department will begin the process of collecting meal applications for all students for the 2025-2026 school year on July 1, 2025. Free and reduced-priced meals are available for all eligible students. If you feel your child may be eligible, please apply online at www.schoolcafe.com or complete a paper application and return it to the school or the Child Nutrition Office at the Administration Building.
A new family application must be filed each school year. Complete only one application per household.

Early processing assures that qualifying students will receive meal benefits for the complete school year. You must reapply, even if your children have been in the program during the past year. Meal status benefits from the previous year will stop after the first 30 days of school.
Children in households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (formerly the Food Stamp Program) or TANF can get free meals regardless of your income. Your benefit letter from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is your documentation for free meals. If you have not received a letter from Nederland ISD by July 31, 2025 stating that your student is eligible for free meals, you may take your HHSC benefit letter to the Child Nutrition office to be certified for free meals.
